Corneal Reshaping (Orthokeratology)

Clear vision without surgery, glasses, or daytime contacts.

What if you could correct your eyesight and reduce your dependence on corrective lenses, all while you sleep?

It may sound impossible. But for many, it’s a reality with Orthokeratology.

Corneal Refractive Therapy (Orthokeratology)

Orthokeratology, a service we offer at our office, is a procedure for correcting myopia (nearsightedness) and mild astigmatism by gently reshaping the cornea with special contact lenses, which the patient places in his or her eyes overnight.

When successful, patients will experience clear vision during the day without contact lenses or eyeglasses. However, the results are temporary, so the patient must continue to wear the lenses regularly at night (similar to a retainer) to maintain optimum results.

One of the most beneficial aspects of Orthokeratology is that it has been shown in clinical studies to slow the progression of myopia.

Want to learn more about your options? Schedule an appointment at Virginia Eyecare Center to see if orthokeratology is right for you.
